Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS)

PBIS is a school wide approach for creating safer and more effective schools.  PBIS is a systems approach to enhancing the capacity of school to educate all children by developing research-based, school wide, and classroom discipline systems.  The process focuses on improving a school's ability to teach and support positive behavior for all students. With PBIS, instructional time is more effectively used for teaching and the overall school environment is calm and conducive to learning.

Rewards for following expectations:

When students follow the Greyhound Expectations, the instructional education plan can be implemented at its best.  Teachers are able to teach in an environment conducive to teaching and students are able to learn in a comfortable environment.  Students can also earn rewards for their positive behavior.

Champ Chances

Students who exhibit behaviors that are consistent with the Greyhound Expectations earn Champ Chances.  These tokens can be entered into raffles for prizes and experiences.  Students can also buy time to eat outside at picnic tables or go to the gym to play basketball after lunch.
